Heavenly Smoothie Bowls

Home / Uncategorized / Heavenly Smoothie Bowls
After all the exercise talk – time to get back to food again!
After all it is training AND nutrition that we want to improve. This idea came from my lovely friend / trainee / training partner Flossie.
Millions of kudos to her for it…So the idea is…..SMOOTHIE BOWLS!!!

(…psssst, why is Nat so excited about this…?!)
Easy – they saved my life AND my dinner not once!So you know about SuperShakes, right?

No? Well, follow >>>this link<<< to read more on them…

Now they are AWESOME but there’s one problem with them…
You can down like a gazillion calories in a gulp!

I know, I know – practice self-control…
But there’s an easier way!

Smoothie bowls have to be eaten with a spoon
So they will slow you down.

Slow = enjoying the taste more
Slow = more satisfied
Slow = lower calorie intake

This is the one I have literally just finished…

Rainbow & Fields Smoothie Bowl
You will need a smoothie base and toppings.
Let’s see the base first:

  • 1 cup of greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
  • 1/2 apple
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 handful of kale
  • 1 celery leaf (do they call them leaves or stems?)
  • 1 teaspoon of linseed
  • 1 teaspoon of wheatgrass powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of spirulina powder

Blitz the whole thing (hand blender or classic blender). Adjust water to achieve desired consistency (I like mine quite thick). Pour it in a bowl. Top with the following.

  • apple thinly sliced
  • banana thinly sliced
  • cinnamon
  • honey drizzle
  • raspberries
  • handful of mixed nuts
Sounds like a lot of different ingredients to buy?
The good news is that you can make these of anything! The other secret is: I did not buy anything for especially the smoothie.
I had it all at home in the cupboard.Healthy eating starts with what you have got available…
…but that is the topic for my next article…
